Here at JFK Dental Care, we know that when it comes to new patients, we're never going to get a second chance at a first impression. That's why we go out of our way to make sure you feel welcome and relaxed. From the introductory call that Dr. Dubin makes to every new patient the night before their first visit to meeting your very own team of staff who will take care of you on every visit. Your Administrative Coordinator will handle all the irksome insurance details, will help you with payment plans and paperwork, and will check you in and out, and make your appointments over the phone, while your Treatment Coordinator will be with you chairside assisting the doctor, taking x-rays and photos, entering all of your treatment into the computer, answering your questions, educating you on treatment options, and basically anything that has to do with your treatment, including your next appointment. Your hygienist will handle your preventive care and make sure gum disease is kept at bay or treated, and help you keep your teeth and gums healthy for life with good home care.
Doctors Dubin and Abdulla will give you thorough exams and break your treatment into 3 categories: Mandatory - things you must do NOW in order to save your teeth or keep you out of pain; Elective - things affecting function not so urgently but that need to be done at some point because they will only get worse and more costly; Cosmetic - things that are strictly cosmetic in nature that make you look and feel your very best. A comprehensive treatment plan will be formulated and once you know your options, you can decide what is most important to you.

In order for all this to happen, your first visit usually consists of the following:
As you can see, this first visit is very thorough. Please allow at least one and a half hours. You will not normally have your teeth cleaned on this first visit because we don't know what kind of cleaning you need.
Many patients meet us for the first time because they have a dental emergency such as a toothache or broken tooth, in which case the emergency is handled first and then the patient is scheduled for the comprehensive exam on their next visit.
We also see people for the first time for no charge consults for sedation, implants, veneers, and Invisalign. These visits are for discussion only. Many of these people already have a regular dentist who perhaps cannot perform these more specialized procedures. Or they know they would like one of these procedures and so are looking for a dentist who can perform them as well as more general dentistry.
